Seth Smith is an associate with King & Markman. He handles a diverse range of personal injury claims from automobile and trucking accidents, victims of premises liability, negligent security, civil rights violations, and the representation of survivors of wrongful death.
Born and raised in Orlando, Mr. Smith takes great pride in serving The Greater Orlando area. Mr. Smith attended Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Legal Studies, with a minor in Political Science. While attending Florida Gulf Coast University, Mr. Smith served as an intern with the State Attorney’s Office Medicaid Fraud Unit. In his spare time, Mr. Smith volunteered at a local food bank and homeless shelter.
After graduating from Florida Gulf Coast University, Mr. Smith returned to his hometown of Orlando, Florida to attend Florida A & M University College of Law. Mr. Smith focused his time and studies focusing on civil rights, motion practice and trial preparation. He immersed himself in trial practice and hands-on litigation experiences, dedicating countless hours to mastering the skills necessary to advocate effectively on behalf of clients. From participating in mock trials to studying strategies that resonate with juries, Mr. Smith honed his ability to deliver results both in and out of the courtroom. These efforts laid the foundation for Mr. Smith’s commitment to pursuing justice through negotiation, litigation, and when necessary, powerful jury trial advocacy.
While attending law school, Mr. Smith worked at a large plaintiff’s firm, where he worked on new case files, determining the legal basis for each potential claim. Mr. Smith screened thousands of cases and led his team in sign-ups of new cases on multiple occasions. Mr. Smith also served as an intern in the Guardian Ad Litem program where he dedicated his time to the welfare of displaced, abused and neglected children. In the Guardian Ad Litem program, Mr. Smith evaluated the living conditions of displaced children, drafted reports and reported his findings to the court. As a Certified Legal Intern, Mr. Smith reported his findings to the court and attended material proceedings with the attorneys. While attending Florida A & M University College of Law, Mr. Smith was consistently a member of the Dean’s list and graduated near the top of his class.
Mr. Smith joined King & Markman, P.A. shortly after graduating from Florida A & M University College of Law. At King & Markman, P.A., Mr. Smith conducts new client interviews, prepares cases for litigation or settlement, attends and argues at court proceedings, and drafts appellate briefs. Mr. Smith is admitted to practice law in the State of Florida and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He is also a member of the Orange County Bar Association.
Mr. Smith’s passion for representing injured persons against insurance companies stems from a deeply personal experience involving a close family member. Mr. Smith witnessed their struggle and the imbalance of bargaining power which ignited a fire to ensure no one else endures the same injustice.
